Picked up at the airport Thurs. night by Jeanine, my lindy exchange buddy since 1998. Dinner at a Thai restaurant in Noe Valley then dancin' at the 9:20 Special. On Friday morning, I caltrain-ed it to Menlo Park to visit Kitty and two-month-old Sean. We had lunch with Lisa at Max's in Redwood City then hung out at the house thru dinner with Kevin. Took the 7:20 pm train back to the city and headed over to the Anunciation Cathedral for more dancing. At 1 am the hordes moved to the Metronome Ballroom for afterhours with a live blues trio upstairs. Bodies thoroughly exhausted from dancing til 6 am, we slept til 4 pm on Saturday. Had "breakfast" at the New World vegan restaurant in Oakland and proceeded to a night with Barbara Morrison and after hours dancing at Sweets Ballroom. The highlights were dances with Dr. Dan and the Shout train with Elliott. On Sunday, we actually made it to Lindy in the Park but parked ourselves on a bench and watched the other dancers. Went shopping for superheroine gifts for Cianna and Megan, the exchange organizers, then took a nap. Went to the Doghouse for some more dancing and ended the weekend bowling & dancing at a filipino-run bowling alley that actually served chicken adobo and lumpia -- the perfect late night snacks. Flew back to O.C. at 6:45 am and went straight to work. Another memorable and exhausting yet exhilarating exchange and visit to S.F.
